Gadchiroli district, known for its tribal population, faces unique challenges as a Naxal-affected region. The government's and administration's efforts here often remain inadequate, leaving the district grappling with unemployment due to the absence of industries.
In 2015, while pursuing my college education, a group of aspirants approached me with a request for a dedicated study space to prepare for competitive exams. Inspired by their determination, I mobilized support from prominent individuals in Gadchiroli and raised nearly ₹2.85 lakh through community contributions. With these funds, we established the Chanakya Study Center, the first of its kind in the city, operating on a no-profit, no-loss model. Alongside this, we started a free guidance centre for competitive exams.
Over the past nine years, Chanakya Library has proudly helped over 70 students secure prestigious positions in government services. Yet, this journey revealed a glaring issue—an alarming indifference towards quality education in the district. Most youth focus on limited opportunities such as police recruitment, nursing, or at best, state-level exams like MPSC or UPSC. Meanwhile, only a privileged few consider advanced studies like NEET or JEE, leaving the district's higher education landscape underdeveloped.
Recognizing this gap, the Sankalp Foundation was born with a mission: To nurture self-development, empower communities, and build a strong nation through access to quality education.
We focus on bridging the divide and bringing students into the mainstream of quality higher education. By fostering a culture of learning and innovation, we aim to uplift not just individuals but entire communities.
Join us in this transformative journey as we create a brighter future for Gadchiroli, one step at a time.
Together, let’s build lives, build society, and build the nation.
